Recreational cannabis use remains illegal in most parts of the world. In Argentina, since 2017, its medicinal use is permitted to treat refractory epilepsy, and in 2020, a decree expanded Law 27.350, allowing for home cultivation and solidarity cultivation for medicinal purposes, the sale of derived products in pharmacies, and its use to treat other conditions.

REPROCANN (Cannabis Program Registry) is a database that allows authorized individuals to register for controlled cannabis cultivation for medicinal, therapeutic, and/or palliative purposes. After registration, a cultivation certificate authorized by the Ministry of Health is issued. Registered data is confidential and only disclosed under judicial resolution. The registration process is free, and the authorization is valid for one year, after which re-registration is required, as there is no automatic renewal.
